In his last attempt to go out in glory, an over-the-hill movie producer (Reynolds) makes one last pitch to get a script sold to a major studio. However, he has a just a few things in his way: a slimy studio exec that wants to steal the script from under his nose, a scheming son-in-law who has gambled away the family business, a young temptress who he can't trust, a con-man with an itchy trigger finger and a shady loan shark that wants it all plus 50% interest!
As he solicits the help of his buddies from the 'golden' era of film (most of whom he finds are retired or dead), he discovers that leaving a 'legacy' behind isn't always what defines a man's worth...
