Pinero tells the explosive life story of the Latino icon, poet-playwright-actor Miguel Pinero, whose urban poetry is recognized as a precursor to rap and hip-hop. But the resulting notoriety and fame were too much for the Latino genius, who retreated into the darker corners of New York City.
