Billy "Shiner" Simpson is an ambitious boxing-promoter/mobster who organizes a world-title bout in England. He bets everything he has on his son, who he puts up to fight. But on the greatest, proudest day of his life, his son throws the fight and ultimately ends up dead. The story unfolds as Shiner evades police and seeks revenge for his son's death.
