This miniseries is adapted from P.D. James's popular novel of the same name and features Commander Adam Dalgliesh, the popular protagonist from many of James's previous books. Here, Dalgliesh has just finished getting Scotland Yard's Sensitive Crime Squad up and running when he is selected to investigate the mysterious and deadly world that lurks behind Government Minister Sir Paul Berowne's respectable facade.
