In the not too distant future mankind has outlawed all things that cause emotion; literature, music and art in an attempt to end wars and keep the peace. A special breed of police are assigned to eliminate all who break this law. When the top enforcer misses a dose of an emotion blocking drug, he begins to see that things are not as they seem.
