The Grombergs are a prominent, dysfunctional New York family busy wallowing in their separate lives. Papa Gromberg (Kirk Douglas), catching a spark in his twilight years, tries to reconcile with his son, Alex (Michael Douglas) and grandson, Asher (Cameron Douglas).
