Based on a true story about real-life eccentric Governor of Louisiana, Earl Long (Paul Newman). Governor Long makes no excuses about his love of strip joints and a certain stripper named Blaze Starr whom he falls in love with, leaving himself open to massive criticism from his oppononents and some conservative citizens.
