This new FINAL FANTASY series is set in the vast but familiar world of the popular video game and begins as a gateway to another world suddenly opens. At the same time, two monsters appear and destroy each other, leaving only a mysterious pillar of darkness as evidence of their existence. 12 years after what came to be known as the Day of Conjunction, two twins whose parents disappeared that day decide to search for them. Hopping on a spectral subway, the two take a ride to a realm known as Wonderland, a fantastic but dangerous place where they hope to solve the mystery of their parents disappearance. In this edition, the twins team with Lisa (who is a Kigen Arts Master) and inventor Cid to help them find their way through Wonderland. Cid becomes particularly useful as he works with the rebel Comodeen, and can make or repair most any needed item. Complications ensue, however, when Kaze loses his memory. Can he find and defeat his rival or provide adequate protection for Lisa and the twins when he can't even remember who he is?
