Cher stars as Margaret, a rich and dissatisfied Westchester wife who is so neglected by her
unfaithful husband, Jack (Ryan O'Neal), that she's considering suicide on the night of their 20th wedding anniversary. Things change, however, when she encounters Tony (Palminteri), a brooding, neurotic hit man hired by Jack to kill her while he's away with his office fling (Amber Smith). In the process, Tony and Margaret become strangely attracted to each other, drastically altering the outcome of Jack's devious plan.
