The aftermath of an intense battle causes emotional reconciliation, conflict, and heartbreaking tales of lost love in SAIKANO. Yukari's boyfriend was killed in the battle, leaving her emotionally empty and longing to be with him again. She also happens upon an enemy pilot whose plane has crashed in the mountains, causing further emotional upheaval.
