Blume In Love (1973)

Review

There's no such thing as a perfect marriage.

A love story for guys who cheat on their wives.

Only after his wife ends their marriage does self-involved Los Angeles divorce attorney Stephen Blume realize he has lost his soul mate, the woman of his life. Now he's a man on a mission, a divorced husband wooing his ex-wife ... He's Blume in Love.

It was just once. Just an afternoon fling. But when Nina Blume (Susan Anspach) catches her husband, Stephen (George Segal), having sex with his secretary, their marriage is over. Only after the divorce, does Stephen realize how much he truly loves Nina. Now, in a Los Angeles of Yoga, affluent liberals and laid-back relationships, Stephen befriends Nina's new beau (Kris Kristofferson), brings the couple bagels and eavesdrops on Nina's therapy sessions. And he wonders, in this bittersweet romantic comedy, how to hold true to marriage vows in a permissive world full of temptation.
