Pete and Lanny dream of becoming stars in the "Gangster Rap" music world. These clueless and thoroughly confused white kids, who have been born and bred in suburbia, know nothing about the ghetto that fuels gangster rap. They also lack the ten thousand dollars required to produce their debut album. And so they try to kill two birds with one stone by heading out on an all-night crime spree in an attempt to satisfy their artistic and financial goals. However, this botched night of crime indirectly earns them fame and fortune, as a bizarre twist of fate gives them the opportunity to spin their misdeeds into a shot at stardom. A transformed and world-wiser Pete and Lanny are mistaken as heroes by their community and take their first steps towards becoming pop music icons.
