Review

Errol Flynn stars as legendary boxer "Gentleman Jim" Corbett.

19th century United States. At a time when boxing is still little more than street brawling, fighter Jim Corbett battles to introduce the Marquis of Queensbury rules and transform pugilism into a sport. He attains his dream with a bare-knuckled fight against reigning heavyweight champion John L. Sullivan (Ward Bond). After 21 grueling rounds, Corbett emerges victorious, proves the merit of "scientific" boxing and wins the heart of the beautiful Victoria Ware (Alexis Smith).

Based on James J. Corbett's autobiography, The Roar of the Crowd.
