Sixteen (aka: The Young Prey) (1973)

Review

She Learned Everything The Hard Way

Things come hard and fast for any sixteen year old. Things like love, adulthood and the sometimes jolting realities of the outside world. Sometimes they come so hard and so fast that they can knock you right off your feet - especially when you're a naive and beautiful country girl like Naomi Erdly (Simone Griffeth).

The intrusion of a super highway and a country fair expose Naomi for the first time to the world outside her simple rural existence. She is immediately dazzled and hypnotized by the bright lights and the hum of activity - by a world full of promise and excitement. But soon the glittering promise is shattered when her first love is turned into a humiliating carnival act.

How she picks up the pieces of her fragile and tender illusion and fits together the tattered remnants of her former life provide the hugely dramatic core to Sixteen - a story of hope, determination and redemption.
