48 Hours: Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy make one of the most unusual and entertaining teams ever in Walter Hill's roller-coaster thriller, 48 HRS. Nolte is a roughedged cop after two vicious cop-killers. He can't do it without the help of smooth and dapper Murphy, who is serving time for a half-million dollar robbery.

This unlikely partnership trades laughs as often as punches as both pursue their separate goals: Nolte wants the villains; Murphy wants his money and some much-needed female companionship. Watch for Murphy's hilarious scene in a redneck country-western bar - you'll want to see it again and again.

Another 48 Hours: Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) and Jack Cates (Nick Nolte) return in the smash sequel that's "better than the first!" (Pat Collins, WWOR-TV). How much better? For starters, the mob puts a price on Reggie's head. The bus transporting him from the pen flips over about 17 times. His prized Porsche is blown into scrap metal. Creeps in a bar still haven't learned it's dumb to get Reggie mad. And the night is still young. Before these 48 hours are up, Reggie and jack will turn San Francisco inside out to nail an elusive druglord.
