Based on a true story, STATESIDE follows Mark Deloach, who lands in the Marine Corps to avoid jail where Drill Instructor Skeer (Val Kilmer) is on a mission not only to train, but to make a man out of the rebellious teenager. Before shipping out, Mark meets Dori (Rachel Leigh Cook) and the outcast lovers cling to their romance in spite of the obstacles that stand in their way.
