Based on the short story by William Faulkner, "Two Soldiers" is the story of two otherwise inseparable brothers, pulled apart by war. Upon hearing the news of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, 19 year-old Pete Grier leaves behind his little brother to board a bus to Memphis and enlist in the army. Inspired by his own sense of duty, nine-year-old Willie embarks upon his own heroic journey, setting out by foot to rejoin his brother and enlist along side him. What follows is a dutiful journey that masks a young boy's irreconcilable grief for the loss of his brother.
