The Lords of Flatbush (1974) (RCE)

Review

This small, but critically praised film starred a number of actors who rose to fame very shortly after -- including Sylvester Stallone and Henry Winkler (Fonzie on the hit show "Happy Days"). Using an episodic format, it creates a carefully crafted portrait of teenagers in 1950's Brooklyn. The story focuses on Stanley Rosiello and Chico Tyrell, sometime leaders of their neighborhood gang. When they're not with their girlfriends, they're roaming the streets with their buddies and causing havoc. Things can't stay the same forever, though, and when Stanley's girlfriend gets pregnant and Chico's sweetheart tells him goodbye, they realize that a special time in their lives is coming to a close...
