Based on the classic Jerome K. Jerome novel, Three Men in a Boat is the comedic story of a man who joins two friends on a boating trip after he is put under pressure to get married.

Jimmy Edwards, Laurence Harvey and David Tomlinson play the three somewhat clueless gentlemen who take a pleasure excursion down the Thames in a small boat. The trio expect to do some male bonding and get some rest, but the trip is soon complicated by various adventures and mishaps. However, the complications turn to the more romantic kind when their trip seems fated to cross the path of fetching young ladies such as Sophie (Shirley Eaton), Primrose (Lisa Gastoni) and Bluebell (Jill Ireland).
