Jane Weinstock's directorial debut EASY is an independent romantic comedy that emphasizes characterization and a realistic attitude towards relationships, contra the typical Hollywood example of the genre. It attempts to honestly examine the competing impulses that beleaguer women in the postfeminist era. Marguerite Moreau stars as Jamie, a career woman who can't seem to find a lasting relationship. Just as she's about to give up entirely, she meets two men at once and gets involved in a love triangle she can't easily extricate herself from. EASY was shot for just 750,000 dollars in only 21 days, and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival. The film features music by Grant Lee Phillips.
