Trintignant is Simon, a master criminal and prison escapee with two points of business on his mind: to reclaim the $1,000,000 in loot he hid away before his capture and to give police the slip by pretending to fly to Canada. After grabbing the money and indulging in a passion-filled visit with his remarried ex-wife, Simon sits aboard a jet headed for the US with his partner in crime (Charles Gerard), smugly contemplating their escape.
