Dead Homiez: We All Have One (2005)

Review

Set in South Central Los Angeles, DEAD HOMIEZ takes a sobering look at the dangers of growing up on the streets by mixing documentary and narrative elements. The film gets to the heart of gang culture by chronicling the day-to-day existence of a 17-year-old Bloods gang member. By interviewing real-life members of the Crips and the Bloods, the filmmaker conveys a real sense of the risks inherent in gang life, while also addressing the ways in which gang involvement can negatively impact associated families and friends.
