Set in Glasgow, Scotland, THE PURIFIERS is a martial arts movie from a British perspective. Director Richard Jobson (formerly of the punk band, The Skids, before becoming a television presenter) trains his cameras on a bunch of outsiders known as The Purifiers. Together, the team of three men and three women form an uncanny alliance as they battle it out against rival gangs in a future Britain. Reminiscent of Walter Hill's seminal '70s gangland tale THE WARRIORS, Jobson's film draws some notable performances from his gang of young actors, with Dominic Monaghan (LORD OF THE RINGS) among them.
