Among the show's most memorable musical guests were John Lennon and Yoko Ono, who appeared on three episodes and rewarded Cavett's wit and intelligence with a rare live performance and one of their most candid and sincere interviews ever captured on film.
Airing on September 11, 1971, John and Yoko's first Cavett appearance was historic for being Lennon's first on-camera interview since the Beatles' breakup.
