When every call is a close call.
When Dr. Richard Avery's (Ed Quinn) son Sam is kidnapped while the two are attending a convention in India, Avery faces a 24 hour nightmare filled with drugs and the dangerous underworld of a strange and foreign country. In a search to save his son's life, Avery is left with a beeper providing the only clue to Sam and his kidnappers whereabouts. Distraught and desperate, Avery seeks out a variety of intriguing characters including drug kingpin Zolo (Harvey Keitel) who, for his own reasons teams up with the doctor and a glamourous femme fatale called Julia (Joey Lauren Adams) to help bring Sam home.
