Peter Fonda stars as Dr. Austin Shepard, an elusive Nobel Prize-winning scientist in this two-part mini-series Supernova. When he disappears suddenly from his observatory at the Space Propulsion Labs, he leaves behind shocking data that catches the eye of his colleague Dr Christopher Richardson (Luke Perry). The missing scientist also arouses the suspicions of seasoned news reporter Laurie Stephenson when a scheduled interview, about bizarre sun storm activities, is cancelled.
Also on Dr Shepard's case is national intelligence agent Lisa Delgado who fears the scientist has been selling his classified, top-secret discoveries and has gone into hiding.

The truth is Dr Shepard has retreated to an island paradise because he knows something that everyone else will soon discover for themselves - after eons of existence as a rolling inferno, the sun is set to explode into a Supernova that will bring about the end of the world in seven short, terrifying days.
