Bob Geldof is the punk musician who led a global humanitarian campaign to help feed the starving in Ethiopia during the famine of 1985. He principally achieved this through two concerts, one in London's Wembley stadium and one in Philadelphia's JFK stadium, raising 40 million pounds, $73 million, all of which went direct to the starving. Over 2 billion people worldwide watched the concerts.
