Stronach Group’s 1/ST Technology has partnered with gambling giant bet365 to deliver horse racing to the sportsbook’s US players via its signature product, 1/ST Bet.

This deal will power the stateside launch of bet365’s new advance deposit wagering (ADW) service on horse racing, available on mobile and desktop platforms in legal US sports betting states where ADW is accepted.

The news about bet365’s affiliation with 1/ST Technology means horse racing enthusiasts can place bets on the activity taking place at various US tracks.

The deal will optimize bet365’s offering as the operator opens service on domestic racing for its US sports betting fans while introducing a round-the-clock international horse racing program.

1/ST Bet is an ADW platform that uses fully integrated AI-assisted tools to analyze the current horse racing market. It gives players access to the entire 1/ST horse racing ecosystem while engaging newbies through “intuitive, winning experiences.” That includes past performances, results and AI Algorithms that can recommend choices for the player.

The agreement will also cover 1/ST Technology’s suite of products and services, such as:

  • 1/ST Bet
  • Xpressbet
  • Monarch Content Management
  • AmTote International brands

1/ST Bet is the official horse race betting app for several events, including:

  • Santa Anita Park in California
  • The Preakness Stakes
  • The Pegasus World Cup Championship Invitational Series
  • The California Crown
  • Gulfstream Park in Florida
  • Maryland Jockey Club

Keith Johnson, chief revenue officer of 1/ST Technology, said in a BloodHorse news release:

“This is a tremendous opportunity to partner with one of the premier brands in sports betting and for 1/ST Bet to showcase its best-in-class pari-mutuel horse racing wagering experience to bet365’s customers.”

A bet365 spokesperson added: “We’re delighted to partner with 1/ST Technology in a milestone announcement for bet365. The partnership marks a significant advancement in our US expansion, showcasing our commitment to innovation and customer experience.”

1/ST announced a new $25 million horse racing series

On March 1, 1/ST announced a $25 million racing and incentive series connecting Preakness 149, The California Crown and the 2025 Pegasus World Cup.

Starting with Preakness 149, 1/ST’s three premier race days will feature over $12.5 million in elevated purses and $7.5 million in incentives for both dirt and turf runners.

In addition to the respective purses, 1/ST is offering a $5 million bonus to the owners of the horse who wins the:

  • 149th Preakness (GI)
  • California Crown (GI)
  • Pegasus World Cup Invitational (GI)

With the first race of the new series scheduled to take place on May 18 at Pimlico Race Course, Preakness 149 Saturday will be the most rewarding in the event’s history, with $ 3.3 million to be won.

Belinda Stronach, chairwoman and CEO, 1/ST, said in the news release:

“My team and I continue to believe and invest in the modernization of Thoroughbred horse racing with a commitment to the highest level of international safety standards and horse care as we continue to elevate our already industry-leading wagering, entertainment and hospitality programs.

To back this up, 1/ST is adding to the legacy of the Preakness by increasing the purse, creating a new marquee race event for the majestic Santa Anita Park – The California Crown – and continuing to build on the phenomenal success of the Pegasus World Cup.”

Replacing the Awesome Again Stakes for 3-year-olds and older, the California Crown will debut at Santa Anita Park on Sept. 28, offering a $1 million purse.

The 2025 Pegasus World Cup will be on Jan. 25 at 1/ST’s Gulfstream Park, featuring the $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational and the $1 million Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational.
