Betfred announced the opening date for the Betfred at Mohegan Sun Sportsbook. The opening marks the sportsbook’s first venture into the Nevada sports betting market.
Betfred at Mohegan Sun Sportsbook will open on Thursday, Feb. 9. The new sportsbook is located inside Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.

Betfred receives green light from Nevada sports betting regulators
Betfred received approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission and Nevada Gaming Control Board on Jan. 25 to launch sports betting at Mohegan Sun Sportsbook.
The company is excited to reveal its latest project, which is expected to impress sports fans. The Betfred at Mohegan Sun Sportsbook boasts luxury seating, a state-of-the-art video wall with high-definition TVs and over-the-counter betting.
Operated by Mohegan Sun Casino Las Vegas and managed by Betfred, the sportsbook will offer sports betting services. It will also feature a race book and off-track pari-mutuel race gambling. In particular, Betfred players can take advantage of numerous betting options, such as:
- Parlays
- In-game betting
- Teasers
- Futures
- Props

NFL star Elbert “Ickey” Woods is placing the first bet
Betfred is an official sports betting partner of the Cincinnati Bengals. Therefore, the betting company called the NFL star, Elbert Woods, to be a special guest and open the Thursday celebration.
Woods will place the first bet at the sportsbook at 3:00 p.m. He will then be hosting an open meet and greet session at the Nevada sportsbook.
UNLV Rebels football and Cincinnati Bengals legend is famous for his signature touchdown celebration, the “Ickey Shuffle.” Woods was a breakout star in the NFL, setting both Bengals franchise and rookie records.
Woods is also a member of the UNLV Athletics Hall Of Fame Class of 1998 and still holds Rebels rushing records today.
