Should everything go according to plan, come Friday, Dec. 4, BetMGM will become the 13th Pennsylvania online casino. This is following its soft launch, which began Dec. 2 and is slated to run through Dec. 3.

The full launch is expected to come with an official announcement.

BetMGM Pennsylvania casino and sportsbook details

Because this is still a soft launch, details are scarce. However, BetMGM Casino in Pennsylvania has brought some holiday joy by releasing a welcome offer that includes $25 in bonus play and a 100% deposit match up to $1,000. And don’t worry: That offer will last until January 31, 2021.

Some might be asking, “What about BetMGM’s long-awaited online sportsbook?”

For the time being, it appears the company is making sure every detail is perfect before launching BetMGM online sportsbook. BetMGM recently even struck a deal with the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers (10-0) as its first gaming partner.

But for now, the company and its partner GVC Holdings (ROAR Digital brand) have yet to move or announce a potential launch date.

A growing online casino market in Pennsylvania

Since its launch last July, the online casino market in Pennsylvania has seen a gradual rollout and steady returns.

In October alone, PA online casinos generated nearly $60 million in revenue. Part of this growth could be attributed to the closure of all US casinos in March for a little over five months. Regardless, Pennsylvania has been a target state for multiple operators.

Upcoming opportunities for BetMGM

BetMGM is already the most lucrative online casino site in New Jersey. But when it comes to Pennsylvania, it’s 16 months behind the competition.

The company was the second to launch operations in West Virginia, where the market remains small. However, BetMGM does have plans to be one of the first to launch in Michigan.

Recently, Michigan lawmakers have fast-tracked rules to govern online casino games and online sports betting. Several other procedures, including licensing and product approval, must first take place before launch. But the date on the calendar appears to be sometime in late December or early January.

Update: BetMGM online casino in Michigan launched in 2021 and quickly became the state’s iGaming leader.

All in all, it’s safe to say that BetMGM is getting aggressive with the competition. The company recently accused Tennessee sports betting operator Action 24/7 of trademark infringement.

Action 24/7’s “King of Sportsbooks” ad campaign, starring Jerry Lawler, seemed to rip off BetMGM’s King of Sportsbooks campaign that debuted a few months ago.
