BetMGM, NHL Partnership Extension Includes League-Branded Casino Games

US online gambling giant BetMGM and the NHL announced a multi-year North American partnership extension.

The NHL inked its first sports betting partnership deal with BetMGM a little over a year and a half ago. BetMGM was the league’s first US sports betting partner alongside the company’s agreement with FanDuel, which later extended into Canada.

BetMGM will introduce new ways for fans to engage with hockey

While remaining the league’s official sports betting and gaming partner, BetMGM will:

  • Create specialized VIP fan experiences
  • Use NHL imagery to design team and league-branded casino games
  • Be featured during the national TV broadcasts

BetMGM’s camera visible signage will extend across the NHL’s regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs, highlighted by inventory including Digitally Enhanced Dasherboards, the League’s advanced approach to dynamic dasherboard advertising and virtual slot in-ice ads.

In a BetMGM news release, BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt, said:

“Our partnership extension with the NHL is a winner. It enables us to enhance the BetMGM product and offer our fans unforgettable experiences built around the game they love.

The NHL is more thrilling than ever – a symphony of athleticism, teamwork, and skill on skates. We look forward to bringing our customers exceptional live experiences and delighting with new in-app content for BetMGM.”

BetMGM Casino recently launched first NHL-endorsed online slot

The news comes two weeks after the BetMGM online casino introduced the first NHL-endorsed online slot. The NHL Gold Blitz game rolled out in New Jersey on Dec 6.

While the slot is new, NHL-branded table games have been a part of the BetMGM online casino’s portfolio for more than a year.

The companies’ latest deal also included the responsible gaming education segment, as both parties are official partners of the American Gaming Association’s Have A Game Plan. The program promotes responsible sports betting to new players and seasoned bettors.
