BetMGM announced the debut of Excalibur, an online slot game that incorporates medieval themes with the bright lights of Las Vegas.
Excalibur is available exclusively to players in New Jersey and Michigan, two of the country’s top three iGaming markets, according to a company news release.
As the iGaming giant says, it plans to offer the game in all US online casino states where its BetMGM Casino operates, which means Pennsylvania and West Virginia could be next.
Online slot game features themes from Excalibur Hotel & Casino Las Vegas
Win Studios created Excalibur, the in-house igaming developer of Entain (LSE: ENT), which owns 50% of BetMGM alongside MGM Resorts International. The game features imagery from Excalibur Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
The 5-reel, 20-pay line online slot features wild and scatter symbols offering 243 ways to win. Players can activate the highlight of the game, the Tournament of Champions bonus feature, when they land at least six casino chip symbols on the reels simultaneously.
Any chip symbol in the main game earns the player a free spin aiming towards the goal of collecting all six. Oliver Bartlett, vice president of gaming product & content at BetMGM, said in the news release:
“Excalibur is a fantastic addition to the collection of slots showcasing a selection of MGM Resorts’ Las Vegas casinos. We take tremendous pride in creating games around these world-class destinations and providing exciting games for our players.”
BetMGM’s Excalibur follows the February release of Luxor Fortunes
Excalibur is the most recent online slot that has reimagined an MGM Resorts Las Vegas-based resort casino. In February, BetMGM debuted Luxor Fortunes, also available in New Jersey and Michigan, showcasing elements of Luxor Hotel & Casino.
BetMGM (NYSE: MGM) also released Bellagio Fountains of Fortune, an online slot set against the backdrop of the famed Fountains of Bellagio. They also released MGM Grand Millions, which features that property’s iconic gold lion.
The company doesn’t base its games only on Las Vegas. In January, BetMGM launched the Star Trek: The Next Generation slot game, available to players in Michigan. This came from BetMGM’s agreement with Atlantic Digital, which was signed in September when they partnered for the exclusive Godfather slot.
BetMGM online casino features more than 1,500 games in its portfolio, offering one of the US’s biggest state-exclusive progressive jackpot pools.
