New Hampshire sports betting revenue reaches $7.66 million in December
The New Hampshire Lottery controls gambling in the state. The lottery shares reports on sports betting revenue each month, in three categories – online, retail and combined.
New Hampshire sports betting enthusiasts can place bets online and in person, with only one operator available: DraftKings. During last month, New Hampshire sports betting revenue totaled $7.66 million, with:
- $6.68 million coming from online sports betting (a 0.50% monthly increase)
- $972,039 coming from retail bets (a 38.55% monthly decline)
According to the New Hampshire Lottery’s December report, sports betting revenue figures show a significant drop from October and November, representing a 12.86% drop and a 7.0% monthly decline, respectively. December was the fourth-best month in 2023 and here’s how it compares to the rest of the year:
As for the yearly comparison, New Hampshire’s December sports betting revenue represents an 8.13% drop. Compared to December 2022:
- Online sports betting decreased by 15.87% yearly
- Retail bets increased 149.47%
DraftKings took less in online sports betting revenue than the previous year
As mentioned, from the total $78.75 million sports betting handle, $67.01 million was wagered through the state’s sole sportsbook, DraftKings. While the operator’s online handle represents a 1.25% month-over-month decrease, it is a 1.70% annual increase from December 2022’s $65.89 million.
DraftKings’ online sports betting revenue of $6.68 million is a slight monthly increase of 0.50%, but it’s a 15.87% annual decrease.
DraftKings remains the only NH operator that offers online sports betting within the state borders. The US sportsbook obtained that privilege in November 2019.
Looking at last year’s fiscal sports betting report, we can expect online bets to start to increase early next year until they skyrocket in March.
