With a smaller number of registrations than during November, Delaware online casinos generated $1.17 million in net revenue in December. The number represents a 4.57% monthly increase but only a minor (0.69%) drop from last December.
With three gaming properties, Delaware is one of six states with legal real-money online casino games.
An overview of Delaware online gambling numbers in December
December 2023’s online casino handle of $31.33 million is a 29.30% decrease from the same month in 2022. The total amount played is also a 2.37% decline compared to November 2023. Like every other month throughout 2023, most of the money came from the video lottery ($18.19 million).
According to the Delaware Lottery’s December report, Delaware Park was the top performer, receiving 357 registrations from a total of 796.
Here’s how it compares to its competitors:
- Delaware Park: $17.56 million in total bets and $448,699 in revenue
- Bally’s Dover: $7.86 million in amount played, resulting in $433,402 in revenue
- Harrington: $5.91 million handle and $284,490 in revenue
Both Bally’s and Harrington showed a monthly increase in revenue earned but a decline in total bets received. Delaware Park, however, saw a rise in the total amount played in December but a drop in net proceeds.
Compared to last year’s period, Bally’s Dover reported an increase in revenue and total bets received in December. Meanwhile, Delaware Park showed a year-over-year increase in total handle, and Harrington stated annual revenue improvement.
Delaware December sports betting activity increases monthly and yearly
Thanks to the busy sports calendar and numerous games to bet on, Delaware’s sports betting net revenue rose in December. From $8.84 million generated in sports sales, revenue reached $2.07 million, which represents:
- A 55% yearly progress from December 2022’s $1.37 million
- A 259% monthly rise from Delaware’s sports betting revenue of $576,800 in November
Total sports sales also represent an 8.8% monthly improvement and an 8.3% yearly growth.
