While you can’t place your first legal online bet in Maryland just yet, BetMGM has a way for you to be prepared when that time comes. You can complete your account registration in the app now ahead of the full launch.
Additionally, BetMGM will reward you for doing so. Marylanders who complete their signups in BetMGM’s Android or iOS app get free bets worth $200 that will be available in their accounts the first day that BetMGM is authorized to take bets online in Maryland.
Registration is free, as is the BetMGM app. All you need to do is provide BetMGM with a few pieces of information so the sportsbook can verify your eligibility to bet on sports in compliance with federal and Maryland laws.
Once you’re signed up, all that’s left is to watch and wait for when BetMGM will start accepting bets online in Maryland. At that point, you’ll have $200 in free bets to strategize with. That day could be forthcoming soon, too.
Maryland sports betting launch could be just weeks away
Regulators in Maryland are aiming to get the first online sportsbooks live in the state between late November and early December. BetMGM got licensure recommendations from one of the pertinent regulatory bodies in the state, the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission, on Oct. 28.
Provided other regulatory bodies follow suit and testing protocols follow quickly thereafter, a late November start date is possible. Either way, bettors who get in on BetMGM’s welcome offer now should start making plans for how they will use their free bets. The full launch date is near.
