Evolution Gaming announced the launch of its Lighting Dice live online casino game in New Jersey.
The new game is now streaming to New Jersey online casino players through Evolution’s live casino platform in Atlantic City.
More games coming to NJ online casino players
In a news release, Jeff Millar, North American Chief Commercial Officer at Evolution, said:
“We’re really excited to be expanding our Lightning family of games in North America with the launch of Lightning Dice in New Jersey. The Lightning family of games has achieved immense success across the Evolution network, as has Lightning Roulette since it launched in New Jersey in 2022. Lightning Dice adds even more choice and fun for both players and operators in the state and has the broadest possible appeal for all player types.”
Lighting Dice is part of the company’s popular Lighting family of games, which includes its “revolutionary” online live game show Lightning Roulette. The game itself is relatively simple as players bet on what the total of three diced dropped from a tower will be. As with all Evolution games, random lightning strikes can multiply player winnings.
Online casino games extended in New Jersey
The Lightning Dice launch follows the signing of a bill to extend NJ online casinos for five years.
The law, signed by Gov. Phil Murphy, allows online casinos to operate through 2028 and continues the 15% tax rate on online gaming revenue.
Unlike other legal jurisdictions, New Jersey gave its online industry a 10-year lifespan. According to state lawmakers, the idea was flexibility in the event online revenue hurt brick-and-mortar casinos.
However, that has proven not the case.
Over the past ten years, NJ online casinos have generated over $6.2 billion in revenue, translating to more than $900 million in tax revenue. In addition, monthly revenue has increased from over $7 million to roughly $161 million in May 2023. The most lucrative month in history for New Jersey has been March 2023, when the industry generated $165.7 million.
