For the rest of this week, Connecticut residents have an opportunity to be part of an exclusive group. That group will expand to everyone 21 years of age or over in the state very soon.

Fanatics Sportsbook has initiated a soft-launch period for its app in Connecticut with a cap on the number of registrations it will accept. Provided everything goes smoothly, Fanatics will lift that cap in short order.

Fanatics shares details of Connecticut soft launch

Following the announcement of Fanatics’ partnership with the Connecticut Lottery, Connecticut residents have a third option for legal sports betting in their state again. Until Dec. 18, though, only 2,000 people will have access to Fanatics’ online sportsbook.

According to a press release from Fanatics, the online sportsbook will limit itself to 2,000 registrants during the soft-launch period. Additionally, the Android and iOS apps will only be available to people who make that cut during certain hours of the first three days.

  • Tuesday, Dec. 12: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern Time
  • Wednesday, Dec. 13 and Thursday, Dec. 14: Noon to midnight Eastern Time

Beginning on Friday, Dec. 15, the Fanatics Sportsbook app will accept wagers from people participating in the soft launch 24 hours a day. Fanatics plans to end the soft launch on Monday, Dec. 18.

From that day forward, anyone of age (21+) and within the borders of Connecticut can place bets on the app.

If you miss the cut for the initial 2,000 people in Connecticut, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to wait until Dec. 18 to check out Fanatics. There are other options for Connecticut residents eager to familiarize themselves with the brand.

Fanatics is taking over operation of 10 physical sportsbooks

The Connecticut Lottery has partnered with 10 businesses around the state to offer in-person wagering. Fanatics has taken over those operations.

While amenities and hours will vary based on location, the betting experience itself should be essentially uniform at all 10 sites.

  1. Arooga’s Grille House & Sports Bar
  2. Bobby V’s Stamford
  3. Bobby V’s Windsor Locks
  4. Shea’s Manchester
  5. Sports Haven
  6. Winners Hartford
  7. Winners New Britain
  8. Winners Milford
  9. Winners Waterbury
  10. XL Center

Connecticut residents can visit these locations now to get a glimpse of the markets that Fanatics is offering. Beginning Monday, all eligible bettors in the state will be able to do the same thing from their phones.

Until then, a couple of thousand people in the state will enjoy some early access.
