In an age where US sports betting is legal in 32 states — following the launch of Massachusetts sports betting — integrity continues to be a driving factor for operators.

That’s why Fanatics Betting and Gaming announced it had joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA). Fanatics Betting and Gaming is the company’s online and retail sports gambling division.

The IBIA is the leading global voice on integrity for the licensed betting industry run by operators for operators. The association protects its members by monitoring and reporting suspicious activity on its members’ betting markets.

Fanatics puts product integrity at the top

In a statement, Andrew Wright, SVP of Trading at Fanatics Betting and Gaming, said:

“Partnering with the IBIA is an important step in providing our customers with a secure trading environment as we begin to roll out our sports betting platform in 2023. IBIA is an important international institution that monitors the global betting markets of their regulated members providing much-needed analysis and monitoring of potential betting irregularities.”

Over the last few months, Fanatics has revealed little about its sports betting plans. The company simply said it plans to launch its BetFanatics Sportsbook live in around 20 jurisdictions by the fall of 2o23.

Fanatics joins 125 US sports betting brands in IBIA membership

In a press release, Khalid Ali, CEO of IBIA, said the association is “delighted” to have Fanatics join its ranks. “IBIA is delighted to welcome a major globally recognized brand into our association. Fanatics decision to join IBIA is a major boost for the association in North America.”

Ali said Fanatics will integrate into the IBIA network. “[The network] consists of many of the world’s largest regulated sports betting operators. Fanatics decision to join IBIA demonstrates its desire to utilize the best integrity protection available for its sports betting product.”

Fanatics joins over 45 companies and 125 leading sports betting brands in IBIA. With the addition of Fanatics, IBIA further establishes its position as the world’s leading integrity monitor.
