Golden Gate Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas is closing from Monday, Dec. 18 to Friday, Dec. 22. Details about the closure are sparse but the carpeting will be replaced while the Golden Gate is closed, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Since Golden Gate will be closed for much of the week, it wouldn’t be a surprise to learn about more work being done on the casino and hotel that has been open for more than 100 years.
The property will reopen on Dec. 23 with an open bar party from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This will also mark the return of Golden Gate’s annual “Santa’s Helper” contest.
Golden Gate Las Vegas casino closed temporarily in 2017
This isn’t the first time in recent memory the Golden Gate has closed for a refresh. In 2017, the casino closed for a few days to finish its expansion to the space next door.
It’s quite a feat that the Golden Gate was only closed for 106 hours during the expansion. The new space in the casino was used for about 100 slot machines.
This space was also home to the first Circa Sports retail location in Las Vegas. The sportsbook at Golden Gate closed after the flagship location opened across the street at Circa Resort & Casino.
The space is now devoted to slot machines. There’s also a Circa Sports kiosk to place wagers without leaving the Golden Gate.
Golden Gate’s Club One rewards and holiday offers
Golden Gate is one of three downtown Las Vegas casinos connected via Club One Rewards. This is the casino loyalty program that links all casinos owned and operated by Circa Hospitality Group.
Derek Stevens is the face behind the company and can be seen on the casino floor at Circa, The D, or the Golden Gate for a special event.
The rewards program is currently running a variety of promotions including a truck giveaway, daily NFR packages, and a couple of holiday offers.
The “Holiday Lights and 12 Winning Nights Gift Giveaway” runs nightly from Dec. 15-27. Prizes include home goods such as tech gadgets, home entertainment, sports gear, and more.
All players can earn double One Club tier points through Dec. 28. Additionally, the “Tiers To That” promotion allows players to earn points so they can jump to a higher tier with better benefits in the rewards program.
Lastly, Club One will match tiers with other casino rewards programs. Unlike some Las Vegas tier-matching promotions, Club One will match tiers with rewards programs from casinos around the country.
