International Gaming Technology (IGT) signed a new 10-year licensing deal with Sony Pictures for exclusive Wheel of Fortune brand rights.

The agreement includes several IGT gaming options, including online casinos, retail lottery and online games. Furthermore, IGT can distribute Wheel of Fortune content for free-to-play social casinos.

Wheel of Fortune ten-year deal begins in 2025

IGT’s Wheel of Fortune slots machine is one of the most successful themes ever. Thus, it makes sense the company would want to lock up the exclusive rights until 2034

In an IGT news releaseRenato Ascoli, IGT CEO, Global Gamingsaid:

“In securing exclusive gaming, lottery, iGaming and iLottery access to the Wheel of Fortune brand through 2034, IGT can maximize the returns of this licensing partnership and advance our legacy of creating omnichannel Wheel of Fortune games that generate demand and award prolific jackpots.

Sony Pictures Television has been a trusted IGT partner for more than 25 years, and in that time, we’ve delivered a diverse portfolio of Wheel of Fortune games that has set the industry standard for innovation, is the clear leader in industry game-performance charts and generated significant revenue for our customers.”

Sine 1996, Wheel of Fortune slots have paid more than $3.5 billion in jackpots and awarded $1 million-plus jackpots to more than 1,100 players. IGT also supports Wheel of Fortune-themed Powerbucks games, the omnichannel progressive jackpot in Canada.

IGT is banking on the Wheel of Fortune theme

IGT’s deal also pairs well with the Wheel of Fortune online casino the company launched with BetMGM in New Jersey. The endeavor is the first brand-led online casino in North America.

The company also launched the Wheel of Fortune Triple Gold Gold Spin, the US’s first omnichannel wide-area progressive (WAP) jackpot.

The WAP jackpot enables New Jersey online casino players to spin for large-scale wins on games. Players can also use combined jackpot liquidity between land-based, mobile and online versions of IGT’s Wheel of Fortune slots.
