Bally’s Evansville

Bally’s Evansville is a pioneer in the Hoosier State’s gambling market. It was Indiana’s first casino and an early entrant to the state’s sports betting market in 2019.

Originally a riverboat casino, now a land-based facility, the property underwent several changes in ownership over the years. In 2021, Bally purchased the Evansville facility from Caesars, another gambling juggernaut. Per the deal, Bally’s gained control over the sports betting operations and online assets associated with the venue.

Bally’s Casino in Evansville is mid-sized. Throughout the 45,000 square feet of casino space, patrons can find 1,000-plus slot machines and 30 electronic and live table games. Blackjack dominates the lobby with 14 tables. The high-limit lounge features an array of slots with high-denomination bets, up to $50. Previously, the property had a poker room, but Bally’s converted it to a smoke-free slots lounge when it took over operations.

At the moment, the venue runs a Caesars retail sportsbook, but there are plans to launch a Bally’s Sports Bar and Grill eventually. Bally Bet — the company’s online betting app — is also available to people in Indiana who are 21 or older.

The complex surrounding Bally Evansville includes a 250-room hotel tower, a 95-room boutique hotel, and an event center. You must be at least 21 or older to enter Bally’s Casino in Evansville. The casino offers complimentary nonalcoholic beverages.

Bally’s Casino Evansville slot machines

Bally Casino Evansville has more than 1,000 slot machines, giving patrons a solid variety of real money slot games. From classics to contemporary releases, there are plenty of options on the roster to suit most tastes. For instance, players can take a pick from these popular slot games at Bally’s Evansville:

  • Dragon Link — A sequel to the all-time classic Lightning Link from Aristocrat. It has rudimentary gameplay with a five-by-three reel format and 50 paylines. The return-to-player rate is below average, which is standard for a progressive slot machine. The signature Hold & Spin feature is the game’s focal point. It triggers with scatters and gives players a chance to win one of the four jackpots using a three-free spins meter.
  • Wolf Run — One of IGT’s flagship titles. Its wolf-themed graphics are outdated when you compare them with today’s high-quality renderings. However, it boasts the standard trifecta of bonus features — free spins, wilds, and multipliers.
  • 88 Fortunes — A game that needs no introduction among fans of Chinese-themed slots. Light & Wonder (formerly Scientific Games) created the slot in 2017, and it’s already a chart-topper both in land-based and online casinos. It’s a highly volatile game, so beware dry spells. To trigger the free spin feature, three bonus symbols must appear on the first three reels at the same time. In the bonus round, only high-paying symbols will appear on the grid, increasing your chance of winning big.

The smoke-free area (former poker room) also features a few notable releases:

  • Double Diamond — An IGT fan-favorite with a retro feel. Three reels are adorned with classic symbols like diamonds, bars, sevens and cherries. The gameplay is dead simple, with only a single payline and no bonus rounds. A wild multiplier can boost your payoff by four times when it appears with another wild multiplier.
  • Gods and Titans — A Norse mythology-themed slot from Everi with stackable wilds and two fairly regular distinct bonus rounds that add to the excitement.

The industry-dominating video poker consoles Ultimate X Poker and Game King are also in the mix. These cabinets feature several video poker games, including the most popular variations Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild, and Bonus Poker.

  • Mississippi Stud: Three tables

Does Bally’s Evansville offer an online casino?

Currently, Ballys Evansville does not facilitate online casino gaming, but this is due to the lack of a legal online casino market in Indiana. If that ends up changing, though, Bally would be reasonably well-positioned to try to launch its online casino in the state.

Does Bally’s Evansville offer an online sportsbook in Indiana?

The Indiana Gaming Commission officially authorized Bally in early December 2021 to conduct online wagering under a temporary vendor license. Bally Bet launched a few days later, becoming Indiana’s 13th online sportsbook. The Bally Bet online sportsbook is also available in Colorado, Iowa, Virginia, Arizona and New York.

Bally Bet’s Indiana tech provider is Gamesys, an online software development company that Bally purchased in October 2021. Otherwise, the Bally Bet sportsbook looks sleek and runs regular odds boosts. Online bettors can benefit from Bally Rewards — a crossover loyalty program between its online and retail operations.

Bally Rewards program

Bally’s has implemented its flagship loyalty program Bally Rewards at all of its US locations, including the Evansville casino. It’s a standard points-collecting system with four tiers:

  • Pro: 0 to 3,999 points
  • Star: 4,000 to 14,999 points
  • Superstar: 15,000+ points
  • Legend: Invite only

Over the course of one calendar year, you can progress through these four loyalty levels, depending on how much you bet.

The rate at which you accumulate loyalty points, Bally Bucks, depends on the activity you partake in at Bally’s Evansville Casino & Hotel. The Bally Rewards program yields the following benefits:

Bally’s Evansville history and current owners

Indiana’s first casino was the entertainment venue that preceded Bally’s Evansville. It was a riverboat casino that Aztar Corp. opened in 1995. Tropicana Entertainment then acquired the facility in 2010 and rebranded three years later. As of 2017, the casino has been converted from a riverboat to a land-based gambling facility.

After a year, Tropicana sold its real estate assets to Gaming and Leisure Properties (Caesars’ real estate investment trust), and Eldorado Resort (later rebranded to Caesars after acquiring it) took over casino operations.

Bally’s bought Tropicana for $140 million from Caesars in 2021 and rebranded it later that year.
