Jackpocket App Used for 2% of National Powerball Sales

US gambling app Jackpocket reports record sales

Jackpocket, a US gambling app announced record participation in the run-up to the $2.04 billion Powerball lottery drawing.

During a three-month-long period – from Aug. 6 until Nov. 7, 2022 – Jackpocket was used for 2% of national Powerball ticket sales for specific drawings.

The third-party app provides a secure way to order official state lottery tickets. Out of 48 Powerball states and jurisdictions, including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, the Jackpocket app is currently available in 14.

11% of Powerball tickets purchased using Jackpocket across 14 states

In 14 US states where Jackpocket operates, players purchased up to 11% of all Powerball tickets using the Jackpocket app. Powerball reached a higher market share in some states for the drawings as follows:

  • 15% in New York
  • 15% in Arkansas
  • 13% in Texas
  • 13% in New Jersey

Peter Sullivan, co-founder and CEO of Jackpocket said via release:

US gambling market continues to win big with Jackpocket

Between Aug. 6 and Nov. 7, 2022, Jackpocket players won over $14 million in Powerball prizes. The winnings include prizes ranging up to $1 million.

Five $1 million second-prize wins were scored in the following states:

  • 2 in Colorado
  • 2 in New York
  • 1 in New Jersey

Two Jackpocket players scoring second-prize wins in Colorado and New York almost won the $1.2 billion Powerball in the Nov.2 drawing. Furthermore, one lucky player hit the $150,000 prize in New Jersey.

Meanwhile, four $100,000 prize wins were received in the following states:

  • 2 in Texas
  • 1 in New York
  • 1 in New Jersey

Eighteen $50,000 prize wins went to lucky winners from five different states:

  • 7 in New York
  • 4 in New Jersey
  • 3 in Colorado
  • 2 in Ohio
  • 2 in Texas

$200 million in Jackpocket lottery prizes since 2013

Since Jackpocket launched in 2013, players have won over $200 million in lottery prizes using the app.

So far, 24 individuals have won prizes worth at least $1 million.

Jackpocket ranked as the #3 Entertainment app in the App Store for the $2.04 billion Powerball drawing. It also ranked as the #1 free app in the entire App Store during the July 2022 Mega Millions run.
