The latest gaming report from the New Hampshire Lottery revealed that New Hampshire sports betting revenue in January 2023 reached an all-time high.
New Hampshire’s January revenue of $12.3 million surpassed the state’s previous monthly best of $9.1 million from October 2022.
New Hampshire sportsbook revenue for January 2023
Gross gaming revenue (GGR) for January 2023 was $12.3 million, a year-on-year rise of nearly 53% from January 2022’s $8.03 million. The figure is significantly higher than the one set in December 2021 ($2.61 million).
Out of the January revenue, $8.01 million came from online sports betting, while $4.3 million was generated from retail sportsbooks.
The total monthly handle was $97.16 million, a 2.4% drop from the $99.54 million set in January last year. More than $75.2 million came from online sports betting, while New Hampshire players gambled $21.9 million in bets at commercial casinos.
The state gathered $5.6 million from sports betting during the month.
New Hampshire sports betting revenue reaches $50.7 million in seven months
For the financial year to date, revenue in the seven months to the end of January 2023 was $50.7 million. The total betting handle stood at $536.76 million, with $23.36 million generated in tax.
As for the entire year, from Jul 2021 – Jun 2022, New Hampshire generated $51.6 million in gaming revenue. Most of the money came from online sports betting revenue ($43.97 million). The state collected the rest ($7.64 million) from retail gaming facilities.
Granite State launched sports betting three years ago. During that time, New Hampshire operators collected $62 million for the state’s education fund.
The state also reported a $10 million increase in state taxes year-over-year. So far, over $2 billion has gone to New Hampshire school funds, according to the New Hampshire Lottery.
