MLB Based Content Augmented By Jared Carrabis Joining DraftKings

When Boston-based DraftKings wanted to expand its MLB content, it simply looked around its neighborhood. Boston Red Sox fan and media personality Jared Carrabis is stepping up to the plate for DraftKings in this way.

Carrabis will start creating weekly podcasts and other MLB-focused content for DraftKings. The content will include other voices besides just Carrabis’, however, and is designed to appeal to all baseball fans regardless of their team allegiances.

Jared Carrabis to take his swings for DraftKings

Carrabis will be part of two new weekly podcasts for DraftKings. “Baseball is Dead” will also star former MLB pitcher and current Oakland Athletics analyst Dallas Braden. According to a press release, the podcast will cover MLB from “top to bottom” and boast one of the “premiere guest lists in baseball media.”

The self-titled “Jared Carrabis Podcast” will have more of a local flavor with behind-the-scenes Red Sox access. That podcast will contain regular contributions from guests Pete Blackburn and Pat Light.

“I am thrilled to bring my deep passion for baseball and sports betting to DraftKings,” said Carrabis.

“Not only do we share roots in Boston, but we also share the same vision to deliver exciting content to sports fans everywhere. I can’t wait for fans to see what we have planned for this year’s MLB season.”

Also, starting later this month, DraftKings will debut a live vlog on Tuesday evenings through which fans can interact with Carrabis via social media as he watches MLB games. Finally, Carrabis will launch a WWE-centric podcast later this spring as well.

With this move, DraftKings builds on its in-house approach to marketing its online gaming products. Carrabis isn’t the only investment in that vein.

DraftKings’ content mill still adding talent

Carrabis is the latest content creator to join DraftKings’ seemingly ever-expanding roster. Other names on that list are:

  • Andre Iguodala
  • Mike Golic Sr.
  • Michael Lombardi
  • Renee Montgomery
  • Evan Turner

Through its collection of podcasts and video content, DraftKings has frequent and regular content covering the NBA and NFL, plus now MLB.

How it will expand next is anyone’s guess, but the strategy is clear. Instead of buying up all the ad space in other sports media, DraftKings is making its own. Carrabis is now part of that.
