Attention, dedicated Megan Millions players! The jackpot has climbed to a massive $530 million!

Tonight’s 8 p.m. PT/11 p.m. ET lottery drawing will most certainly be the most anticipated since last October when the jackpot hit a record-breaking $1.5 billion. That winning ticket was sold in South Carolina on October, 23rd 2018.

Should you win and opt for the cash option, you could walk away with $343.9 million. This will be the seventh-largest jackpot in the game’s history.

Mega Million drawings happen every Tuesday and Friday, so the next one will be Tuesday, June 11th at 11 p.m. ET, if no one wins tonight.

A refresher on Mega Millions rules

In order to win big money, a player must match five white balls out of a pool of 70  and one red ball out of a pool of 25.

If you’re like the staff here at Play USA and always wondering the odds of winning, you have a 1 in 303 million chance of hitting it big and riding off into the sunset.

More Mega Millions winners than you think

However, according to Mega Millions, there are more winners walking away with prizes than you think. In the June 4 drawing, there were a total of 1,320,417 winning tickets at all prize levels.

One ticket, sold in Colorado, included the Megaplier and is worth $2 million after the 2X Megaplier was drawn Tuesday night. Four other winning tickets matched all 5 white ball numbers and are worth $1 million each. Those tickets were sold in Arizona, Connecticut, Michigan, and Minnesota.

Since the last jackpot hit in Missouri on March 12, there have been more than 17.2 million winning tickets at all prize levels, according to Mega Millions. This also includes 36 tickets worth $1 million or more.

If you can’t hit it big at Mega Millions there is also Powerball. On Tuesday, Charles Jackson, a 66-year-old North Carolina man, came forward with the winning $344.6 million ticket. Jackson opted for the cash option taking home $223.3 million ($158 million after taxes).
