Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort history and current owners

Soaring Eagle Casino opened its doors to the public in 1996. It became a casino resort in 1998 when the management established a 500-room hotel on the property. The complex is owned and operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Nation, which also runs Saganing Eagles Landing Casino, a smaller gambling venue in Standish, Michigan.

One of the first major renovations of the site happened in 2000 when the management turned the old bingo hall into the 3,260-seat Entertainment Hall. In 2005, the resort continued expanding its entertainment capacities by adding the Outdoor Arena with a 5,089-seat capacity.

In 2018, the tribe renovated the Entertainment Hall, relocated the poker room, redesigned the Kid’s Quest and Cyber Quest spaces and added a VIP lounge, a high-limit area and a new nightclub and sports bar. The renovation project cost $26.5 million.

The new nightclub and sports bar became home for Ascend Sportsbook in April 2022, after the casino got the green light to start offering sports betting services.

In 2020, the management began a two-and-a-half-year renovation project to add new infrastructure and hotel rooms.
