Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati showed its cards this past week, opening up its sportsbook for a sneak-peak.
The preview builds momentum for Ohio online and retail sports betting, which is scheduled to launch on Jan. 1, 2023. The sportsbook at the Ohio casino will feature a lounge area, 33 betting kiosks, and betting windows.
Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati President George Goldhoff spoke with reporters at the preview.
“I call it a man cave in the sky,” Goldhoff said. “This will be a place to watch your favorite games.”
Star-studded launch party planned for NYE
The much-anticipated Ohio sports betting launch prompted Hard Rock Cincinnati to plan a New Year’s Eve party at the sportsbook.
The celebrity slate for the evening features Ohio sports legends:
- Former Cincinnati Reds star Pete Rose
- Olympic gold medalist Mary Wineberg
- Hall of Fame Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman
- Former Reds pitchers Tom Browning and Bronson Arroyo
- Former Cincinnati Bengals Hall of Fame offensive lineman Anthony Munoz
- Other Bengals former players, including Ickey Woods, Jim Breech, and David Fulcher.
At around 12:01 a.m. on January 1, Pete Rose will place the sportsbook’s first bet.
Ohio casino will host NYE party with notable Bengals player
The sportsbook launch is part of a casino-wide NYE celebration. Bengals running back Joe Mixon will host a party at the property’s events center.
DJ Zayne and DJ Etrayn will provide entertainment. Tickets to the event are $125 and include admission, appetizers, and two drink tickets.
The casino’s food hall will offer a $49.99 prime rib/snow crab buffet special, too.
Ohio sports betting market taking shape as launch approaches
Ohioans will have multiple sports betting options on January 1, thanks to a multi-platform approach to legislation. Lawmakers in the Buckeye State approved sports betting kiosks, apps, and retail sportsbook locations.
At the moment, there are more than 800 retailers that have kiosk licenses. This allows them to offer a sports betting kiosk on their property on January 1.
On the online side, 12 online sportsbooks have licenses:
- Hard Rock
- BetMGM
- DraftKings
- FanDuel
- Caesars
- Barstool
- bet365
- Betfred
- PointsBet
- Superbook
- Tipico
- BetRivers
To sign up for the apps, bettors have to provide personal information to verify their identity. That information includes:
- Your name
- Date of birth
- Address
- Phone number
- Last four digits of your Social Security number
Hard Rock sportsbook app promotion offers $100
As part of its launch on January 1, Hard Rock Cincinnati is offering a $100 sign-up bonus. The bonus is available to anyone who downloads the Ohio Hard Rock sportsbook app through December 31.
The $100 is a bonus bet deposited into the bettor’s account after they place a cash wager of more than $100 in the first 14 days after the app goes live.
