US gambling operators continue to include celebrities in their advertising campaigns
BetMGM is not the only US gambling operator to recently attract a celebrity for advertising purposes.
Though we’re already used to seeing sports individuals like Mike Tyson, Christiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Jose Mourinho promote gambling as entertainment in an effort to boost betting companies’ revenue, that list is getting bigger.
In May 2022, SciPlay Corporation, a subsidiary of Light & Wonder, started a new marketing campaign for its Jackpot Party casino game, featuring actress Sofia Vergara. The company hoped to leverage Vergara’s fans and draw their attention toward its latest casino app.
Earlier this year, Nicki Minaj partnered with MaximBet, sports betting and online casino brand. The rap veteran agreed to be a global ambassador, special advisor, and investor of MaximBet. Minaj is also involved in MaximBet’s iGaming operations and serves as creative director of Maxim magazine.
Furthermore, a boxer, social media star and YouTuber Jake Paul recently co-founded sports betting app called Betr, which focuses on micro-betting.
