Now that we have entered 2023, sports betting at Hollywood Casino Toledo is officially live.
In partnership with Penn Entertainment, visitors to the casino will find a physical Barstool Sportsbook. In addition to sportsbook betting, Ohio regulators approved over 1,000 retail options and 20 mobile Ohio sports betting apps.
Big events coming to Hollywood Casino Toledo
In June, a spokeswoman for Hollywood Casino Toledo said the casino is also planning to open a Barstool restaurant in early 2023.
“It will be the premier place to watch and bet on sports in all of northwest Ohio. We are excited to announce new amenities coming to Hollywood Toledo over the next year and will be sure to keep the community informed along the way.”
If you don’t live in the Toldeo area, don’t worry.
Penn Entertainment owns four Hollywood Casino/racino properties in Ohio, and all four will have Barstool Sportsbooks.
- Toledo
- Columbus
- Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley
- Hollywood Gaming Dayton Raceway
New sports betting promotions
Hollywood Casino Toledo is also rolling out some sports betting promotions, including “Choose The Champs.”
According to the casino website, customers can swipe their mychoice card at any promotional kiosk and pick their favorite pro-football teams for the week. The top 10 guests who make the most correct picks can win between $100-$1000 in Bonus SlotPlay.
If online sports betting is your thing, Penn Entertainment offers promotions for that too.
Right now, new customers who download the Barstool Sportsbook app and register for an account using code: OHLIVE can receive the following:
- $50 mycash to use at a mychoice destination
- $50 Online Bonus Cash to use on the Barstool Sportsbook app
Remember, the sports betting promotions are for new customers only.
Not all clear blue skies for Barstool
Earlier this month, the Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) suggested a $250,000 fine against Barstool for violating state gaming rules.
The fine came two months after Barstool hosted an event at the University of Toledo. During the event, Barstool displayed a promo code during its live broadcast. OCCC rules specifically prohibit promoting sportsbooks to people under 21.
In a newsletter to operators, the Commission wrote:
21+ and present in OH. Gambling Problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER“In short, the Commission asks that all operators immediately review their advertising materials and ensure that all materials include an RG message and that the RG message is conspicuous. We ask that all operators look at the platforms and areas they are advertising and ensure they are not targeted at individuals under 21.”
