State of Play

  • Wyoming has officially joined the National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program, enhancing responsible gaming protections for players statewide.
  • This integration allows Wyoming residents to self-exclude from multiple gambling activities across jurisdictions, supporting safer betting practices.
  • Nationally, this move strengthens the effort to address problem gambling with a seamless, accessible tool.

The Wyoming Gaming Commission (WGC) announced Wyoming’s immediate participation in the National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program (NVSEP), a multi-state initiative that helps individuals voluntarily restrict their gambling access.

Wyoming players can enroll online at NVSEP.org or find links via the WGC website to self-exclude from various wagering options, including online sports betting, pari-mutuel wagering, skill-based amusement games, and online casino play, though Wyoming has not legalized online casinos as of yet.

WGC Executive Director Nick Larramendy highlighted this step as key to offering a “unified platform” and wider coverage for those needing to take a break from gambling. Jonathan Aiwazian, CEO of idPair – the technology provider behind NVSEP – emphasized that self-exclusion protections now travel beyond state borders, matching the nature of problem gambling in an effort to promote responsible gambling practices.

Directory links to support networks

For US bettors, especially in Wyoming, joining NVSEP means easier access to tools that prevent gambling harm through a centralized online system.

The program eliminates paperwork hassles with online enrollment and reinstatement processes, making self-exclusion practical and manageable. Additionally, players benefit from a comprehensive resource directory linking to state and national support networks, including the Wyoming Council on Problem Gambling.

Operators and regulators gain from coordinated multi-jurisdictional compliance, reinforcing integrity and responsible practices within Wyoming’s growing wagering market.
